Residential Submetering Testing NYCRR 16

PowerCon’s residential submeter inspection and testing services will be able to ensure that residents of submetered buildings continue to receive reliable and accurate electric consumption measurements. PowerCon will conduct an annual test on a percentage of the existing tenant submeters in accordance with the testing procedures and standards outlined in NYCRR 16 Parts 92 and 93. The new law requires testing of a four percent (4%) sample of the meters in all submetered buildings. Through intensive analysis of the phase diagnostics, PowerCon will be able to address operation and calibration of the submeter, and identify and repair any faulty mechanism that may be causing submeter failure. Submeters in need of recalibration or repair have a one year grace period after the testing to be corrected.
